No AI Policy
FinPal does not use artificial intelligence. Here is what that means, and why it matters for your money.
The short version
Every calculation, recommendation, and roadmap FinPal produces is generated by hand-crafted algorithms built on 8+ years of finance expertise. No AI model is involved at any point. No large language model processes your data. No machine learning system influences your plan.
What you get is mathematics. Precise, deterministic, auditable mathematics.
1. What "No AI" means at FinPal
When we say FinPal does not use AI, we mean it completely. We do not use AI to generate financial advice. We do not use AI to summarize your data. We do not use AI to write recommendations, surface insights, or rank your debts. We do not run your data through a third-party AI API at any step in the process.
The calculations that drive your repayment plan, your Precision Engine results, your strategy comparisons, and your milestone projections are all produced by deterministic algorithms. Given the same inputs, they will always produce the same outputs. There is no randomness, no probabilistic generation, no model that could hallucinate a number that costs you money.
2. Why this is a deliberate choice
AI has a well-documented problem in high-stakes domains: it confabulates. A language model does not know what it does not know. It will produce a confident, fluent, grammatically correct answer that is factually wrong. In casual contexts, this is a nuisance. In financial planning, it is dangerous.
A debt repayment plan that is off by even a small percentage compounds into real money over years. An incorrect interest calculation is not a stylistic error you can forgive. An AI that hallucinates a payoff date or misunderstands how daily interest accrual works does not feel uncertain when it tells you the wrong answer. It tells you clearly and confidently.
We built FinPal to be the opposite of that. Every output is the result of a formula. Formulas do not guess.
3. What powers FinPal instead
FinPal's calculations are driven by a proprietary engine developed over 8+ years of applied finance research. The engine covers:
- Precision simulation: Real calendar-based calculations that account for exact days between statements, months with extra payment cycles, and daily interest accrual. Not averages. Not approximations.
- 8 optimization algorithms: Risk-adjusted prioritization, liquidity option valuation, dynamic interest rate forecasting, credit score optimization, correlation and cascade risk modeling, tax-adjusted debt optimization, behavioral pattern adaptation, and robust CVaR optimization.
- 47+ variables: Each plan considers income timing, spending patterns, due date clusters, statement cycles, balance rollovers, and behavioral signals, not just balance and rate.
- MyBudget integration: Real expense data feeds directly into strategy calculations so your available payment capacity reflects what you actually spend, not a generic estimate.
These are not approximations dressed up as precision. They are the kind of calculations institutional financial tools run, made accessible to individuals.
4. What this means for your data
AI-powered financial tools typically send your data to a third-party model API to generate a response. That data leaves the service. It passes through infrastructure controlled by another company. It may be used to train future models. The exact path it travels and what happens to it along the way is often opaque.
At FinPal, your financial data never touches an AI model. It is processed entirely by our own algorithms, running on our own infrastructure. No third-party model API receives your debts, your income, your spending patterns, or anything else you put into FinPal.
This is not just a privacy position. It is a trust position. You should know exactly what processes your financial information and what it does with it.
Our commitment on AI
If FinPal ever introduces any AI-powered feature in the future, we will disclose it clearly and specifically, describe what data it touches, and make it opt-in. We will never silently route your financial data through an AI model.
5. A note on marketing language
"AI-powered" has become a marketing phrase that often means very little. Products describe themselves as AI-powered when they use basic pattern matching, when they surface pre-written content, or when they call a third-party API and relay the output. We are not interested in using the phrase to make FinPal sound more impressive.
What we have built is more impressive than that. A Precision Engine that runs real-calendar simulations. Optimization algorithms that operate at institutional levels of precision. A system that adapts to your actual financial behavior, not a model's guess at what your financial behavior might be.
That is what we want to be known for.
